WolfSpirit's Toy Breed PuppyMill Rescue
| |
We are a small not for profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization dedicated to rescuing and re-homing toy breed dogs. We accept mostly Chihuahua's, Miniature Schnauzers, Brussels Griffons, Chinese Cresteds, Papillons and Yorkies,( but not limited to these breeds). We take in the old, the special needs and the young. They include retired breeders, kennel close outs, and sometimes puppies, that, for some reason were returned or rejected by pet stores.
Although our main focus is helping any ex breeder in need, we also pull from kill shelters and when we have the foster space available will help with owner surrenders.
We consist of families and individuals who foster in our homes since we do not have a physical shelter. We do not receive any government funding nor outside fundraisers. We rely entirely on donations and our own fundraisers to support our efforts. Without our caring and dedicated volunteers and foster homes we would not be able to help these little survivors out of the mills and offer them a chance at a normal life. There are no salaries here for what we do. We get paid with sloppy kisses and a warm body to snuggle up with while they are with us.

About Us
Many of us started out with other rescue groups and then branched out on our own. We have been rescuing dogs for many years, with our first puppymill survivor coming to us in 1999. After that, we started focusing on helping these little souls have a life outside of a cage of misery. In October of 2000 we received our 501(c)3 non profit status.
Although we are a small group, we are a very dedicated group of volunteers.
Mission Statement
1. To rescue animals from situations that are abusive, endangering and neglectful, which includes puppymills and backyard breeders;
2. To inform the public of these situations in order to put a stop to animal abuse and irresponsible breeding;
3. To provide foster homes for these animals;
4. To provide necessary veterinary care;
5. To promote the importance of spaying/neutering;
6. To place rescued animals into permanent adoptive homes; and
7. Building and maintaining a shelter for rescued animals.
WolfSpirit’s will endeavor to maximize the percentage of its operating budget, which directly benefits rescued animals, including the spaying and neutering of these dogs.
Fundraising to support this will be achieved through solicitation and acceptance of contributions from individuals and other methods or events as the Board of Trustees of the Organization desire to utilize.
