August 2010 Roxie is adjusting very well in her new foster home. She loves playing outside with her foster brothers and sisters and also with the family's cats. Although she is still a bit timid, she enjoys lap time and taking treats gently from her foster Mom's fingers. Roxie is working on her housetraining but has occasional accidents, usually in her crate after eating, if she is not taken outside as soon as she is finished. She is such a sweet, sweet girl that it's easy to forgive a few mistakes.
July 2, 2010 Roxie had her dental cleaning on Monday and the vet had to pull three teeth. She's on antibiotics and pain meds for a few days but doing really well.
June 20,2010
Roxie is back. Poor girl is a little confused right now. She was adopted almost a year ago and now back with us. She apparently never got the hang of potty training.
Roxie was a little neglected in her vet care while she was gone so we will be getting that all caught up. She was never kept on heartworm prevention as per our contract so retested and thankfully negative.
Her nails were pretty long and her coat although it had grown out beautifully was matted underneath so she had a quick trim to get rid of those. She had surgery to remove mammary gland tumors and was to be checked - that was never does.
Roxie never saw a vet after she left her foster home last year. She gained 2 pounds which doesn't sound like a lot but it is for a small dog. She was heavy prior to her surgery since her foster home got her weight down. Now back again she is back up to where she was before.
Then her teeth, oh my what nasty smelling breath this little girl has. She is free with her kisses so it's not something that you could miss. Her back teeth are almost black. Roxie goes in for a dental cleaning on June 28th.
We are hoping there is a few angels out there that will sponsor Roxie to help us with her expenses.
Estimated cost will be between $175 and $200 depending on whether or not she will have to have any teeth removed.

Roxie was at the vets yesterday to get her rabies vaccination. While we were there the vet re checked her little lumps to see if there were any changes. None at all !! YEAH
There are two small pea size lumps which could very well be scar tissue but will need to be watched just to be sure. We could have her go in again and be put under anesthesia to have them removed but would prefer not to do this to her again if there is not cause for alarm. Her new parents will need to just watch them and "if" they start to get any bigger get her into their vet to have them checked and probably removed.
Roxie is ready for a home of her own to spoil her like crazy. She's super sweet and hasn't met a stranger yet.
April 6
Roxie is doing very well but seems to have done a back slide on her potty training. She's a little more interested in playing outside then going potty so has some accidents in the house. Her foster family has been watching her a little more closely while she is outside and as long as they remind her what to do out there she doesn't have accidents in the house.
March 17
The 19th will be 3 months that Roxie had surgery to remove some of her mammary glands. If you all remember the vet could not remove part of a strand because she was too chunky and there wasn't enough loose skin to stretch. We were to keep an eye on her and do a follow up in 3 months.
Today was her vet appointment. She lost 2 pounds so back down to her original weight which he said was really good. We did feel two tiny tumors in the glands that were not removed. One feels like grains of sand the other maybe the size of a BB.
Her tooth that was bad still needs to come out but he doesn't want to try it yet for fear of breaking her jaw since that is deteriorating. He wants to wait again to see if the tooth loosens up a little more then will remove that as well as the remaining strand of glands. So Roxie will be staying with her foster family for a few more months.
